I never thought I’d write this, but this shoe is actually better (in my opinion) than my favorite running shoe of all time, the NB Fresh Foam Zante v2. First, they breathe a lot better, which at this time of year (Summer) makes a huge difference on long runs. At the same time, although the Vazee Rush v2 technically weigh 1 oz more than the Zante v2 (according to NB), I swear you CANNOT feel it in the slightest. The “rapid rebound” cushioning in the midsole more than makes up for that 1 oz and gives you a mini-launch assist with each step. With the Zante v2, you get a comfortable ride and support in a shoe that goes like lightning. The Vazee Rush v2 does the same, but even better. As far as appearance goes, these shoes are absolutely gorgeous in person and are extremely well constructed. I couldn’t decide between the black/salmon color and the grey with high-lite, so I ordered both and am extremely happy I did. In short, if you’re looking to go really fast in a shoe that feels incredibly light but provides a great ride, support, ventilation and looks, order these shoes. You will not be disappointed!I probably should have gone up a half size, but they still fit without any discomfort and fit with my orthotics (a bit tight) as well. Like with most athletic shoes, the cushioning feels the best the first week of wear. I wear them almost every morning for about 90 minutes of walking and after five months the soles have not worn down as much as previous shoes from other makers; the inside back of the heel has held up — almost every other previous shoe wore out, through the foam and down to the heel cup after only a couple of months.Usually I need a new pair of shoes after six months or sooner but New Balance may make that need less frequent.I got the Protect Pack black and silver; the glow in the dark isn’t going to be for everyone since the greenish tint midsole can glow even in dim lighting. My favorite running shoes in quite a long time. I run 50+ miles a week averaging 7:30 pace. These are a 2 month term shoe at best. Light, comfortable and my sore Achilles are improving not getting worse! Unlike heavy and expensive "structure" shoes that feel like cinder blocks, this shoe feels nimble yet it has good cushioning and has been fine on my weekly 13-15 mile long runs.**Update** On my 3rd pair now. At about 400 miles these shoes really start to flunk, but that's a good value really. Have now used this shoe over 70 miles per week and on runs up to 21 miles. They take it and leave me with one less thing to worry about! 3rd pair will be on my fee at the Boston Marathon in a month from now and are a small part of the plan to run under 3 hours. They are the perfect combination of light and comfortable for that task. These have a narrow middle to the sole, as it comes up to meet the arch and outside of your foot, so if you have a wider foot they tend to have a kind of rocking feel to the way the shoe hits the ground. To toe and ball of foot feel nice, and there is a decent cushioning to run with, and heel lands nice but they have a light less-substantial midsection to the sole. If you hate a wider shoe that gives a sliding around feel to your foot, these do nice as they are snug without being too tight. After about 10 years exclusively wearing NB shoes, I had two bad experiences in a row that caused me to doubt their build quality. I've been running in Mizuno Wave Riders for the last year, but when I saw these shoes, they reminded me a bit of the 890's, so I ordered them to try them out. They're great. First pair of shoes that I put on in a long time that just felt right immediately. After a few trial runs on the treadmill, I took them outside, and I love them. Just the right amount of cushioning, and the way they suit my mid-foot landing pattern perfectly. Also, they are extremely porous, which should suit me well as we get into the warmer months.I'm only about 40 mi into this pair. The shoe is fun. It's really bouncy and surprisingly resilient. I've used NBs in the past as a trainer/treadmill runner. This shoe drew me outside for some streets/sidewalks. It doesn't handle turns the way my Kinvaras do, but on straight stretches, it just rolls.Where it beats my other runners is in ventilation. I am loving how cool my feet stay. They breath very well, and dried quickly after running in the rain.Stride for stride, I still prefer my Sauconys, but these are holding up as advertised, and at a decent price point. My last NB fresh foams lasted past 800 mi, so we'll see if I can get the same longevity from these. These shoes look amazing, there very nice and squishy on the heels, the tread looks like it will hold up for a little bit. I wear size 9 and they are perfect fit. This also came surprising to me that they came perfectly laced up ready to rock! Usually the laces are not done. Not sure if this was seller or I got lucky but it was a pristine lace job. I work with lifting and running 100lbs up stairs, hills, and using dollys for several hundred pounds over mixed urban road surfaces including gravel lots. I'll be testing this shoe to it's extreme and will post an update in 1 month how they've held up.I am a woman who wore the he'll out of the lady version of this model (which cost more!!!!!). New Balance isn't making anymore of them and so cannot find my size in women's. Desperate for another pair I decided to try the men's version. OMG! EXACT SAME FIT and FORM - for LESS. I bought two more pairs in the event the men's become impossible to find. This is a fantastic shoe for runners with huh arches and a touch bit of the ole plantar fasciitis in the heels. I'm crushed that New Balance decided to sunset the Vazee Rush. ?Super light. Look stunning. Love these trainers!! Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended. 10/10. A+++++.Good quality comfortable shoe.
